What SmartPrep is

SmartPrep matches students with tutors and teaches online. It is not a marketplace where anyone can list. Every tutor has achieved at least 75% in the subject they teach or holds an honours degree in it.

Lessons are one-on-one or in small groups of two to ten students, booked by the hour from a minimum of thirty minutes.

The rate drops as hours are booked: 5% from 5 hours, 15% from 10 hours, 20% from 20 hours. Group lessons are charged per student at the rate for their level, and the same hours discount applies. SmartPrep is not a VAT vendor, so the published price is the total payable.

Paying with a bursary or allowance

SmartPrep accepts payment from nine bursary and scholarship programmes: Dell Young Leaders, Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme (ISFAP), Careerwise, Students for a Better Future, Golden Key International Honour Society, Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, MAD Leadership Foundation, Jakes Gerwel Fellowship, and Tutors & Exams South Africa.

Dell Young Leaders students pay directly with an Intellimali card. Students on the other programmes pay by card or EFT and claim from their funder.

SmartPrep is a registered vendor at UP, UCT, SU, WITS and Varsity College.
